To promote its action plan (2022-2025) for cultivating "legal docents," who help residents protect their legal rights and interests, Hainan (in South China) Women's Federation, from August-September 2023, conducted six online training sessions (of "legal docents"), attended by cadres with the federations (at all levels in Hainan), mediators who help residents resolve family disputes and women volunteers.
The federation invited legal experts to provide lectures (to trainees), to publicize information about the Chinese Civil Code, the Law Against Domestic Violence, the Law on the Protection of Minors, the Law on the Protection of Women's Rights and Interests and other laws.
The experts explained how relevant organizations should help residents resolve disputes within families, and how the organizations should strengthen legal intervention, to protect the legal rights and interests of victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assaults.
